Politics is confusing.

UPDATE -----

The article below was written before the Federal Election 2007. iVote Australia has been archived since the Election. The website is still viewable. See the latest article in the Whats News section.

Election time means cruising around seeing cheesy posters of political Candidates all hungry for your vote.

The newspapers and TV channels are full of coverage about policies on the environment and all that other important stuff as well as the latest comments from our Prime Minister John Howard (now Kevin Rudd) or Kevin Rudd the Leader of the Labor Party. We hope our website will be a place you can make sense of all this.

At first, its not easy understanding that there are actually 3 levels of Government. Local (the Mayor and Councillors) State (your Local State MP and the Premier, this is a bit different if you are in the ACT or NT) and finally the Federal level (the Prime Minister and Federal Members).

Sooo…instead of being confused, have a look around the website and be surprised how easy it is to understand what the politicians and newspaper articles are talking about and how it affects you.

Seriously, don’t forget that your vote is just as powerful as your mum n dads or the guy that works in the bottle shop (insert humorous job).

So if you want to combat terrorism, stop global warming, appear reasonably smart and impress people, then take an interest in how you can shape Australia…
